This massage was an essential healing technique in ancient Egypt and was the prerogative of the Pharaohs. For practitioners of the time, the body and mind were one, with all actions on the body affecting the mind and vice versa. The Egyptian massage focuses on the muscles and nervous system. The massage uses olive oil mixed with essential oils such as jasmine, rose or sandalwood. It consists of alternating, sliding pressures and gentle touch on specific areas of the body. This is a holistic wellness massage that releases muscle blockages and nervous tensions, thins the blood and removes toxins via the lymphatic system. If you are often the victim of chronic fatigue, prolonged stress or depression, then the Egyptian massage is the one you need, in fact it will positively influence your energy and «joie de vivre».
«Shiatsu» means finger pressure in Japanese. It’s a massage technique that uses acupressure touch to restore harmony in the body and thus promote health. It’s inspired by traditional Chinese medicine and aims to improve the flow of vital energy: «Qi» in different parts of the body. Your therapist will press mainly with his thumbs, but also with his fingers, fists and elbows, on specific places called «tsubos.» These «tsubos» are along meridians which regulate an organ or function. Depending on your condition, the therapist may use other techniques such as kneading, rotation or stretching. This massage will reduce your stress and boost your immune system. It will give you a deep sense of well-being and calm.
The Vunkuwa massage is an ancestral therapy native to Southern Africa. The Vunkuwa massage is based on natural and spiritual pain-relief approaches. The word «Vunkuwa» can be translated as «energy flow.» Applied pressures act directly on the organs and tissues, and aim to put back the energies of the body back into circulation. The session always begins with a body warming, which is necessary because a certain temperature is needed for this massage. This warming is not brutal; it consists of light massage on each of the muscles groups. Then, the practitioner does some «squeezing and rolling» to reach all the bones and muscle tissue, with a general focus on the spine. By using this traditional massage technique, Vunkuwa stimulates acupuncture points with an almost immediate effect. At the end of the session, you’ll feel revitalised and will feel a sense of relief in your joints.
Reflexology is a massage technique of the plantar arch based on the principle of internal meridians used in Chinese medicine for over 5000 years. According to a precise schematic, each part of the foot is in contact with all organs of the body through the nervous system and can provide information on the operating status of various organs. Your therapist will use Balinese techniques, based on general principles of reflexology, with the additional use of aromatic creams. Therefore the actions and sequence of movements are much more fluid and much less painful. Reflexology can effectively relieve some internal imbalances such as headaches, insomnia, back pain, arthritis, chronic sinusitis, menstrual cramps, bloating and heavy legs, etc. This technique provides information on the state of your organs and the cause of your pain. Reflexology is safe, it doesn’t not address all problems but is a very effective for those that it does, for all ages.
